It should therefore come as no surprise that we assume the church will always be there in the future. Ready to welcome the next generation of Christians as they embark on their journey through life. Yet the future is not always entirely predictable and as good stewards of the church, we must always be prepared to safeguard our sacred treasure.
It is with this in mind that the Saint Demetrios Legacy Society was established. It is an endowment designed to make certain that our beloved Saint Demetrios will always be safe and secure for years to come. Ready to welcome and nurture the next generation of Christians here in Fort Lauderdale.

How will the Endowment function?
- Gifts to the Endowment will be conservatively invested.
- No distributions will be taken from the Endowment until it reaches $1,000,000.
- Once the fund reaches $1,000,000, it will be authorized each year to distribute 4% of the value of the Endowment to fund the operating expenses of Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church of Fort Lauderdale.
- The Endowment has been designed with a “lockbox mentality” to make it very difficult to remove additional funds from the corpus.

Is there a minimum gift to the Endowment?
Yes. The minimum gift to the Endowment is $10,000.
